Organs in furniture
I will be buying some nice pieces of furniture and building pipe organs into them,Whilst keeping the pieces as original as is possible.Any part of the furniture removed and not used will be kept and given to the eventual customer.------------THIS PIPE ORGAN IS NOW "SOLD" ON e-Bay. I have used a "Wireless" Midi system ,so there are no Trailing Cables to the Organ. It is supplied with A 49 note Keyboard and a "MIDI" filer / player..
Goto Down the page to see and Organ being built into a

THERE ARE LOADS MORE PICTURES BELOW.
The Text is All here.
My 1st item is this early "Bureaux bookcase" I intend to fit 1 or 2 ranks of pipes with the Shiny spotted metal pies "On Show" behind the glass.
I am also fitting a 64 note multiple switch & diode matrix to create a 4' stop from one of the ranks (or maybe both).
I have recently acquired a 37 Note Midair MIDI Keyboard, which has a "wireless" midi system built into it.
This will be fitted to this organ, along with a "Remote" control to switch the organ ON from your armchair.
90% of my organs are equipped with Midi , in one form or another.
All of them can be played by Keyboard or any Midi filers, I always use Midi channel 1 , and all are chromatic with no notes omitted.
That means that you, or I can download the 1000's of Free midi files available on the internet.
Most of these files do need a little altering , but this is easy to do, I use "Anvil Studio", then convert the melody / accompaniment / Bass all to midi channel 1
I find that a lot of the tracks on Midi files are not needed on pipe organs, So I delete them.
I removed the "Bookcase" top, from the bureaux.
The internal size of the "Bookcase" is 32.5" high x 27.75" wide x 6.25" Deep.
Therefore the height of the largest "Pipe" could be approx 28", which will mean that the lowest Note I could use is C4 (tenor C stopped).
I made a lower windchest and fitted 12 Stopped Wood pipes (C4 to B4),on the rear of the chest, the 3 outer pipes each side have their mouths facing rearwards. The rest all face forwards.
This lower chest is also fitted with "Spotted Metal" open Principal pipes, from C5 to C7.
I have used a secondary windchest which fits in between the wood pipes and the metal pipes, Which carry 12 metal pipes from C#7 to C8.
This give a total of 49 pipes, (4 octaves). ( see photo's below).
The blower Will be fitted into the "top drawer" of the bureaux.
The 64 note multiple contact switch, diode matrix, Midi Decoder, and power supply will be fitted in the "lower drawer" of the bureaux.
I have purchased a 37 note Midi keyboard with a Midi "Wireless" system , (Made by Midair).I will also be fitting one of the two following Midi Filers, either a Yamaha MDF2 data filer, or a Midi filer which uses S.D. camera cards.
The latter are available from http://www.sdmidicontroller.co.uk/ .
